Case Study: Bibliotherapy to Reduce Adolescent Anxiety in Paninggilan Utara Village Ciledug District

Abstract

Mental health is important to support a person's quality of life. One mental illness that is often experienced is anxiety. Anxiety is a psychological disorder caused by a mental disorder experienced by a person, who usually suffer from this anxiety disorder experiencing excessive worry accompanied by certain signs. The World Health Organization (WHO), estimates that more than 200 million people worldwide suffer from anxiety disorders, and in Indonesia the highest number of sufferers of mental disorders is in DKI Jakarta Province at 24.3%, with a prevalence of 6% suffering from emotional mental disorders as indicated by symptoms of depression and anxiety. Blibliotherapy is a therapy that uses reading books as a healing method. Blibliotherapy is psychotherapy support that uses books to help someone solve their problems. The aim of this research is to analyze the action of blibliotherapy to reduce anxiety in patients with general anxiety disorder in Paninggilan Utara Village, Ciledug District. The research method used is a quantitative method with a case study design. The research was conducted for 14 days with 6 meetings and the duration of each meeting was 30-60 minutes. The population in this study consisted of 2 respondents. Research results: showed a decrease in anxiety levels in both respondents. Conclusion: blibliotherapy can be used to reduce anxiety levels in patients with anxiety disorders in Paninggilan Utara Village, Ciledug District. Suggestion: for further research, there is a better understanding of conducting research on anxiety and procedures for implementing blibliotherapy in patients with generalized anxiety disorders.
