Abstract
Physical abuse, loss of loved ones, rejection by family and repeated failures are phenomena that can cause mental problems in the form of low self-esteem. Low self-esteem is an evaluation of each individual that leads to negative feelings or aspects of oneself. The prevalence of nursing diagnosis of low self-esteem in Soeharto Heerdjan Hospital Jakarta in January-June 2022, is 18 patients, increasing to 20 patients in 2023. This research aims to identify increased self-esteem in mental disorder patients with low self-esteem after being given occupational drawing therapy. This research method is a case study of three respondents using occupational therapy intervention for four days with a duration of 15-25 minutes. The research instrument used was an observation sheet for signs and symptoms of low self-esteem. The results of the research obtained from the self-esteem level scores which had been observed for four days, proving that two of the three respondents experienced an increase, namely respondent II from a score of 2 to a score of 5, then respondent III from a score of 3 to a score of 6. The results of this study show that occupational therapy draws able to help patients with low self-esteem in increasing self-esteem. The conclusion of this research is that occupational therapy drawing has been proven to be able to increase the self-esteem of patients with low self-esteem. Researchers recommend that mental health nurses apply occupational therapy as a form of therapy for patients with low self-esteem.
